I am not a professional gambler
I am not a professional gambler.
I have no idea who the trainers are, the horses, or even the racing locations.
To me Kempton Park is kemp, the Cheltenham Festival is just another music concert and laying is well, laying.
When I hear all weather I think astro turf, preferably green.
I recently used the word “dodgy” in a conversation about some financials.
But somehow I am up 10.66 points this month.
Yeh, I know, so what, boring as an accountant.
Accountants have perceived characteristics: conservative, methodical, consistent, boring.
Personally in my real life I have no discipline, and am a bit lazy.
I am patient though.
Consider what gambling characteristics you need to be successful.
Discipline, Patience, Consistency
Consider what characteristics you need to avoid.
Greed, Laziness, Too Emotional

I know this may be hard to believe, but luck has very little to do with it
If you have a good laying system that manages risk then you should be able to profit.
But only if you are diligent in following the system.
Most betters lose because they are always jumping on and off the bandwagon and miss the long term profits.

I know that if you have a system and if you think before bet the chances are higher but what are you saying is that you can 100% win each time and this, in my personal opinion, cannot be true. Luck is an important factor in every bet (horse racing or any other sport) but of course not the only factor.

I never said you can win 100% of the time.
The key is to manage your risk, which means that you will lose.
Stick with a system and manage your risk and you will be profitable.

You forgot about luck
